ANTIOCH GOLF CLUB
TOURNAMENT HANDICAP SYSTEM, AMENDED 10/1/03
Antioch Golf Club members who participate in any Antioch Golf Club 18 hole or 9 hole tournament will have their respective monthly indexes computed one of two ways:
Those members whose AGC Indexes have yellow backgrounds will use the AGC INDEX only for all Antioch Golf Club tournaments (yellow indicates played in 6 or more AGC tournament rounds). Yellow Background = 12.9
Those members whose AGC Indexes have a white background will use the lower of the NCGA INDEX or AGC INDEX (white indicates played in 5 or less AGC tournament rounds).
*** Club members with yellow background AGC Indexes: Any AGC member whose AGC index has a yellow background, has played 6 or more 18 hole rounds in AGC sponsored 18 hole golf tournaments in the preceding 12 month period. (This section was amended in September ’03 by the AGC board of directors to reduce the number of tournaments scores needed from 8 to 6, 18 hole rounds.)
*** AGC INDEX: The AGC board of directors installed a new handicapping system for all AGC tournaments starting January 1999. (This handicapping system was voted on and approved by the AGC membership in the Oct. ’98 regularly scheduled election)
The AGC INDEX is computed using only AGC 18 hole tournament scores. Any member who has played in 1 or more AGC 18 hole tournaments in the preceding 12 month period has an AGC INDEX.
** The best 50% of the AGC 18 hole tournament rounds in the previous 12 month period is used to compute a club member’s AGC INDEX.
Examples: A club member having played:
1 tourn. round = will use that score to compute his AGC INDEX.
2 tourn. rounds => 2/2 =1 :: best score used
3 tourn. rounds => 3/2 = 1.5 => 1 :: best score used
4 tourn. rounds => 4/2 = 2 :: the 2 best scores are used
5 tourn. rounds => 5/2 = 2.5 => 2 :: the 2 best scores are used
And so on.
The differentials of the best scores used for a club member are averaged together and rounded off to the nearest tenth to determine that month’s AGC INDEX for that club member.
## New members or members not having played in an AGC 18 hole tournament in the previous 12 month period will use their current NCGA index for that tournament. If said member does not have a current NCGA index, then said member will have to play that tournament with no strokes. Thereafter, they will fall in either part (A) or (B) above.
